Grand Hotel Gladstone refurbishment

Wilkins Windows is equipped with the knowledge and years of experience to deliver customised timber heritage doors and windows to fit the requirements set for the refurbishment of Gladstone’s grandest old lady, The Grand Hotel.

Timber Heritage Doors and Windows in The Grand Hotel

Built in 1898, Goondoon Street’s most recognisable corner icon contained 17 bedrooms, one sitting room and a commercial room, two bathrooms, one bar and parlour. The Grand Hotel was established to cater to the influx of passengers awaiting sea transfer to and from North Queensland, as well as from travellers coming from the Gladstone terminus.

The Grand Hotel underwent its first major refurbishment following a 1993 fire that left it extensively damaged. Since then, the luxury establishment has had its share of renovations transforming it into the bustling hotel it is today.

As one of the top companies of choice for major industry specifiers, Wilkins Windows was commissioned to supply a number of timber heritage doors and windows for the 2013 major refurbishment of The Grand Hotel. The project entailed the launch of an informal chain of burger joints, Ribs & Rump Restaurant, and The Coffee Club, which serves an all-day breakfast meal together with their signature coffee blends.
